The public needs not to concern about the increase of the daily Covid-19 cases as the sultanate hit 306 new cases yesterday.

“What important is to know that cases in Category 4 and Category 5 are still under control,” said the Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the press conference.

The country reported 304 cases from the ART testing results, and 2 cases were of 156 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. To date, overall cases are 148,395.

No cases are identified in Category 5, and only 1 case is in Category 4 which requires oxygen assistance and is under close monitoring.

A total of 233 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 146,639, meanwhile, active cases are at 1,533 of which 5 cases are currently treated in hospitals, and the remaining cases are undergoing home self-isolation.

The Health Minister advised the public to continue adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the government following the end of the Early Endemic phase today (May 31).

“The Ministry of Health (MoH) will continue to monitor any infectious diseases, not only on Covid-19 but other infectious diseases such as malaria, and dengue,” he said.
